Recovery 101

Welcome to YIN Recovery 101

What is athletic training?

Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Athletic training is recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA), Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as an allied health care profession.

Who are athletic trainers?

Athletic trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.

Athletic trainers are sometimes confused with personal trainers. There is, however, a large difference in the education, skillset, job duties and patients of an athletic trainer and a personal trainer. The athletic training academic curriculum and clinical training follows the medical model. Athletic trainers must graduate from an accredited baccalaureate or master’s program, pass and complete the BOC exam to become a licensed healthcare professional.

Who We Serve

Expert advice and in-depth features for a healthy every day recovery.

We aim to help all those who are looking to live healthier and improve their day to day function. At YIN Health and Wellness we strongly believe in the 4 pillars of Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition; in order to uphold those pillars recovery is a strong foundation for all four. Recovery aims to restore the body and mind processes, so that a person/athlete may work, train and/or compete at a high(er) level while reducing the risk of injury. Whether this is postural pain as a result of work duties or the accumulation of stress from training, your recovery is specific to you and your body’s needs.

How we serve you:

1.   Screening Process

Each new client has the opportunity to be fully assessed and screened by our Licensed Athletic Trainer; in order to get a better understanding of your limitations, needs and goals. This allows both you our client and our healthcare professional to create the best plan of recovery for your individual needs.

2.  Research Driven

Because your care and results matter to us we use data collected from both internal and external studies.  It is a goal to provide the highest quality of service and thus we are always making sure the treatment and services you receive are being applied to their fullest extent.  We encourage our clients to ask questions and seek out the research behind the modalities and treatments we provide.

3.  Individualized Care

One reason we provide individual screening and assessments upon treatment is because no two bodies are the same and we understand that. What works for one client, might not necessarily work for another. We cater our programs and attention to each individuals needs.

4.  Compassion

We are not successful unless you leave our wellness studio feeling better than when you came into us. We care about your health and wellness results and therefore it is important to us to build your education surrounding our four pillars of health Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition.  It is imperative to us to build strong relations with our clients, their families and individual goals.
